Will pets set off the motion alarms? Yes, however, careful placement of the motion detector, allowing it to only "see" above a certain height and limited spaces or prohibiting pets from going into monitored areas may help alleviate this problem.
Are tools needed to install the product? No, both the detector and alarm can be set on a table or attached to the wall using adhesive-backed velcro (included). In cases where a more permanent, wall-mounted installation is desired, each unit has a mounting hole on the back.
