Therapeutic Puzzles

Therapeutic Puzzles are an innovative, therapeutic solution for caregivers to create quality time with individuals living with Alzheimer's and Dementia.

These puzzles provide to caregivers a tool to communicate and connect. An added benefit is that it also often has a calming effect upon the person with Alzheimer’s and dementia. We’ve chosen images that will either spark a memory of a previous interest or can be used as conversation starters. The activity of putting the puzzle together affords the opportunity for both verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as, conversation and encouragement.

New Country Therapeutic Puzzles is a colorful version of memories of vacations in the country, riding trailers, strolling through the cornfields and relaxing on a rocker on the porch. Seniors will surely recall these wonderful times as they are putting together this puzzle.

This 12 piece puzzle was just the right number of pieces for my mom with dementia.

The puzzle pieces are big enough to handle, and strong enough to take some mishandling. Also, 12 pieces is the right amount, since my family member can no longer use much of the logic that goes with puzzling. Finally, thel size of the completed puzzle is a practical size. So many puzzles with easy to handle pieces are too large for shared tables.
