I was unsure about ordering the animated cat for my 95 year old father in memory care, but he is an animal lover and I thought it might provide him some comfort when he is alone. He has dementia, but knows my sister and me and although he has bad days, I was afraid he might be offended by a "stuffed animal" However when it arrived, I was amazed at how lifelike it looked and sounded. We gave it to him for Christmas at my sister's home and he seemed confused by it, so I thought the impulse was a bust. However, when my sister took it to him about a week later, he loved it immediately and wouldn't put the cat down. He talks about giving "kitty" a good home. Kitty sleeps on his bed and he covers her with a blanket so she doesn't get cold. I couldn't be happier with this purchase because I do believe it helps my dad feel useful and gives him some happiness despite not being able to go home.
