Non-Slip Placemat with Table Setting Design - Dementia

Setting the table is one of those tasks which are low risk and yet engages with the mothering Instincts, so strong in women with Alzheimer's disease. Engagement in 'mothering' or 'help around the home' type of tasks are beneficial, and this non-slip placemat with table setting design enables another simple and worthwhile activity.

The placemat is a simple high contrast two color product which depicts where cutlery and dinnerware are placed. The mat purposefully has no text so that it will not be language restrictive. Its purpose is to encourage continuing engagement of people with Alzheimer's in setting the table while providing clues to aid the failing memory.

It is exactly how it is describe. It's very pretty and colorful too. My husband loves it. He can see it and loves the colors and identity as his place now.  It works so good. It was hard before as he used to move the mat constantly, now it's almost fixed to the table. He stopped moving ir. So problem solved///

5 of 5 Great for my aging parents and my children too July 5, 2018

I've noticed my aging mother use this placement for reference as she sets the lunch table for my father. I also give this placemat credit for teaching my children how to set a place at the the table!
